Thmbnls is the first ever interactive soap opera on your mobile phone and we require actors
Thmbnls is the first ever interactive soap opera on your mobile phone. This one of a kind new media channel will consist of twenty-two, 60 second episodes which will be filmed over the course of 5 shoots.
We are looking for our 5 central cast members with a playing age of between 16-18. We want people who can not only improvise and think on their feet but who can also bring their own personalities to a character, people who can keep it real. We need people that viewers will be able to relate to and who can bring their own ideas, opinions and personality to the mix.
You must be prepared to be fully committed to the series from beginning (Sept '08) to end (Feb '09). There is also the possibility of a second series. This is a fantastic opportunity for young actors who are looking for a fresh, exciting and innovative project to get involved in.
We would ask that you live relatively close to Hackney as to ensure we keep each episode up-to-date, we may need you to be available for episode re-shoots at short notice.
We will be holding castings this week.

Billy
Males, aged 16 to 18 from the United Kingdom
Caucasian. Bit of a jack-the-lad. Everyone likes Billy because he's a bit of a joker. Girls find him sweet. In an unexpected twist we will follow Billy as he finds his soul mate.

Jakkie
Females, aged 16 to 18 from the United Kingdom
Caucasian. She comes from the wrong side of town, is a bit promiscuous and not too choosy. Is saved in the nick of time from a life of nappies and loneliness by best friend Mundy.

Lupe
Males, aged 16 to 18 from the United Kingdom
Mixed race. Originally from the Caribbean. Will eventually become one of the UK's most successful R&B artists, but is currently too shy to sing in front of her mates. Blossoms into a stunner by Christmas when all her dreams come true. Has secret crush on Billy but pretends to like Gripper.

Mundy
Females, aged 16 to 18 from the United Kingdom
Caucasian. Hangs around with Lupe and Jakki. Is constantly harrassed by her older brother's friends. Matures at an alarming rate and becomes the voice of reason for the entire group

Gripper
Males, aged 16 to 18 from the United Kingdom
Afro-Caribbean. Best mates with Billy. Comes across as an angry character, physically bigger than everyone else. Boxes 4 times a week. throughout the series we see his gentler side emerge.
