I require an actor and actress to play characters aged 20-30 for a final year student film
Upon completion the film will be distributed to film festivals throughout the UK. The film is a final year student based project for BA (Hons) Media Production Degree at Staffordshire University. This is our 9th and final film and one we are highly passionate about.
"Now showing" is a short love story set in a cinema between the usherette and the projectionist.
Usherette
A petite woman in her mid 20's, who feels great affection for the projectionist. She feels quite happy and confident talking about general day to day banter, but has an inability to discuss her true feelings for him.
Projectionist
A slim fellow in his late 20's early 30's. Somewhat of a recluse due to being couped up in the projection room. He feels strongly for the Usherette, but is once again to shy to do anything about it. The Projectionist struggles greatly with everyday banter, desperately trying to find the right thing to say but stumbling and failing.
Both have strong feelings for each other, however both are also quite shy and never voice their feelings. Until one day a routine encounter in the projection room, by sheer chance the dialogue of the film being screened in the cinema somehow spells out exactly how they feel for each other, allowing them to finally express their emotions.
Filming will take place over 3-4days between the 13th of March to the 4th of April. The location is still being narrowed down and because of this all applicants must be willing to travel.
Auditions will be held over the next 2-3 weeks. We will let successful applicants know their auditions date and time via e-mail.
