Perfect Candiates is a dark love story. Part love part supernatural film
The Film I am making is a drama, if you've seen the movie 'A short film about Love' its similar but more supernatural.
It is a low budget movie (travel/food/place to stay with be arranged)
The movie tells the story of Jack and Monica (see more in my character discrptions) two very unlucky souls when it comes to Love.
The story is more character driven than plot.
Filming will take place in and around Staffordshire (and 2 days in Dover)
The film is painfully low budget, looking for actors with passion. The crew will be small, and an 'all chipping in' kind of feel to the shoot.

Jack
Males, aged 24 to 35 from the United Kingdom (nudity may be required)
The lead character in this love story, Jack A lost soul in this world, an almost living ghost, searching for love. He finds the women of his dreams, his life will never be same again. Role is tough, as story deals with, self-harm, love, sex, phobia etc. I know sounds depressing, but the shoot will be fun! (Nudity required is mild not 'full frontal')

Monica
Females, aged 20 to 28 from the United Kingdom (nudity may be required)
Monica is the female lead. She is a poor women, down trodden, always accepts the worse in society, because its easy for her. She searches for love, but never really finds it in her world... only lust is what she finds... that is until she meets Jack The role is demanding and is anything but shy, she is a caring women one moment, then terrible the next. Again as with the Jack role, It may sound depressing, but the shoot will be fun! (as with Jack nudity is mild-not 'full frontal')

Vicky
Females, aged 26 to 32 from the United Kingdom
Vicky is girlfriend of Tim (already cast) she and Tim are Jacks bestfriend She is comfortable in her life, loves her boyfriend but deeply concerned for her friend Jack Character has around 20 pages in the 100 page script.

Barry
Males, aged 27 to 34 from the United Kingdom
Barry is the unoffical BF/pimp of Monica. Very over protective to Monica (in all the wrong ways) Character needs to be 'somewhat' a nutter, think a 'sugar free' Ed Norton from 'American History X' mixed with James Woods in Casino! This character has 3 scenes, but I dont need angry man 100% this character also does have somewhat a tender/caring side. (Needs to be to have maintained a such a long realtionship with Monica)

Monica mum
Females, aged 20 to 60 from the United Kingdom
VOICE ONLY Actress needed to play Monica's (estranged) Mother. 5-6 pages. Will record seperate and edit onto scene after. Role, is to speak to lost daughter in the middle of the night... starts sleepy/then thinks its a 'prank' call/realises it isnt and goes Harsh to her daughter.

Carla
Females, aged 22 to 35 from the United Kingdom
Carla (and her BF sean) have two scenes in this overall project. The two scenes are back to back in same house. Important to film as when Monica (see profile description) goes 'walk abouts', she visits her friend in the middle of the night to talk about her life and love (life). Carla and BF are their to show Monica - what she could have if Monica could allow herself to be free and fall in love and accept a 'better (love) life'. Its 3-4 pages out of script, few hours work in evening.

Sean (Carla BF)
Males, aged 25 to 33 from the United Kingdom
For this role, please see info provided for Carla -it is the same scene/locations/duration of shoot etc. Again just to show Monica what she could have if she allows love into her life. Not as much speech as Carla, (maybe 1 page) but still equally important in the Big picture

'Man at B and B'
Males, aged 28 to 33 from the United Kingdom (nudity may be required)
This is so simple. Basicly to stand in the doorway of room at a B and B and temp the leading lady away from Jack on their road trip when they stay over night at a B and B. May not sound much, but is written to show Monica's true colours, also to show her in 'unlove' for Jack. I ticked the nudity box, but only shirtless
