Surviving Actors Manchester is an event that helps actors understand how to sustain themselves in a notoriously difficult profession. Attendees are given the chance to develop their career by meeting industry related companies and professionals, all of which provide services to progress an actor’s career. Actors will also meet companies who provide additional training for professional actors in order to refresh, focus and develop their craft. Exciting and inspirational seminars will also occur throughout the day.

StarNow is hosting one of these seminars, called ‘Do you really need an agent’. Ross MacFarlane of MacFarlane Doyle Associates takes a look at if you really need an agent, and how you can find work yourself! The seminar will focus on maximising your profile on casting websites, putting yourself up for the right work and where to find it. The session is hosted by Ross MacFarlane, who has been involved in the industry for 25 years. After training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School he worked as an actor and director in British Theatre, including the RSC, National Theatre and West End. He made many television and film appearances before becoming the Head of Acting at a CDS drama school.

Come and visit the StarNow stand on the day and receive a free headshot worth £50.
