'Recovery' is a short film project from an RMIT's Masters degree student.
With a duration of approximately 20+ minutes, it will take the audiences through a story of a Doctor Alex Walker as he blindly search for a way to recover from the traumatic event of losing his wife. Unfortunately as life would have it, the event not only shattered Alex's life, it turns others away from him as well as dragging him into a whirlpool of hospital politics. The decisions he makes, consequently dictate his outcome.
This is not, however, just a story about one Doctor. Three other surgeons (including Alex's wife), were part of a special training program conducted by Alex's father: Doctor William Walker since childhood. The program was so intense and focused, it left them with unhealed scars, which only worsen after the death of one of their own. As the story unfolds, the effects of these emotional wounds begin to truly reveal themselves.
Written as a potential pilot for a Television series, 'Recovery' will focus on the theme that makes the Drama genre: The protagonist making his return from rock bottom.
