A Metropolitan Film School student requires male and female actors

An ambitious and narcissistic trainee surgeon wrongly diagnoses a special needs patient with fatal consequences and must fight, not only to save her life, but to make sense of his losing battle.

Protagonist - Oren:
Oren is an ambitious, confident trainee surgeon to whom every door is open. He is admired and respected by his peers although he is superior and considers people a resource that need to be handled skilfully if one is to reap the maximum benefits. Although he feels the need to be in a relationship with a woman, he is emotionally withdrawn and his relationships end because he is incapable of trusting, or showing interest in anyone, but himself. A man out of control, he comes to a decision, little realising how ill-equipped he is to make it and enters into territory he has never been before.
Mairead – a patient:
Mairead is a devout catholic who is on the Autism Spectrum. Although she can communicate with others, she finds it very difficult and feels alone in her world. Pregnant as a result of a violation, she is extremely distressed by her situation and finds it almost impossible to talk about. At a low point in her life and overwhelmed with guilt and shame, she feels responsible for what has happened to her and sees her physical pain as just desserts for not taking better care.
The Girlfriend:
Oren’s girlfriend is the daughter of friends of his parents. The families have known each other for a long time. She is a conniving material girl to whom image and status mean everything. Oren is her ticket to all that she values and considers him her trophy although, in spite of this, she does love him.
The Nurse:
An experienced A&E professional who has worked at the hospital for a long time. She is a nurse of the old school who still sees nursing as a vocation rather than a career and always considers her patients to be her priority in every sense. A shrewd judge of character, she sees right through the bullshit and bravado of the professionals she has to work with and Oren is no exception.
