‘Baby Steps’ reveals the struggle between a married couple, Anthony and Maria, and the contrasting and separate ways in which they deal with the loss of their child.
Anthony, dishevelled in appearance, finds comfort in food and remains isolated and disconnected from the world around him. Maria, being unsuccessful in trying to reconnect with Anthony, attempts to satisfy her need for companionship and affection in a spur of the moment fling with a pizza delivery guy.
Both partners, whilst initially trying to grieve independently from one another, whilst behaving out of character, finally realise that the best way to deal with the pain, is to take comfort in each other.

Harbours a deep love for Anthony.
