Show/Rehearsal Venue:
Rehearsals will be held in the Hip Hop Pop studio at the Playhouse
Show will take place in the Playhouse Studio Theatre (Harlow)

9 Adult Ensemble (Singers/Some Dance Ability) Ensemble parts inc:
Lord High Underling (Member of Ensemble)

Monkey Leader (Member of Ensemble)
9 Children (Dancers/Singers)
9 Teenagers (Age 12 – 16 Dancers/Singers)
9 Ensemble Dancers (Age 16+ Strong Street Dancers with some group singing ability)
Audition Process:
Part 1
Under 16’s Audition: for 9 x Children & 9 x Teenagers (age 12-16)
5.30pm Register at the Playhouse (Desk in Foyer) – Please bring a passport sized photo of yourself
5.50pm Introductions
6.00pm All Auditionees will learn a group dance routine and be asked to perform it in smaller groups
6.30pm Auditionees that pass the first dance stage will stay to sing a group song which will be a number from the show (lyrics will be provided)
7.00pm Audition for under 16’s will finish, auditionees will be notified as to if they have a part within 7 days.
Part 2
Auditions for Lead Characters , Adult Ensemble, Adult Ensemble Dancers
6.30pm Register at the Playhouse (Desk in Foyer) – Please bring a passport sized photo of yourself
6.50pm Introductions
7.00pm All Auditionees will learn a group dance routine and be asked to perform it in smaller groups
7.30pm Those Auditioning for Adult Ensemble or Ensemble Dancers will stay to sing a group song which will be a number from the show (Lyrics will be provided)
8.00pm Ensemble Auditionees are finished and will be contact with casting result within 7 days
8.10pm All Lead Character Auditionees will be called in 1 at a time to sing a song of your choice. Please choose an appropriate song for the character you are auditioning for, this can be a musical number or a commercial song. Please bring the sheet music for this with you, if you cannot get hold of sheet music please bring backing track on CD – please note Sheet music is preffered.
10.00pm Audition complete – Auditionees will be contacted with results of casting within 7 days
Important Information:
1. Cast members and production team do not get paid. This is an amateur production of the Wiz, yet the standard expected will be of a professional level
2. As this is an amateur production, cast members will be be expected to pay a small show fee of £25 each to cover costs such as rehearsal time and performing licences.
3. Cast members are expected to attend all rehearsals they are called for. (This will not be every Friday/Sunday but will be a god 75% of them)
4. Hard Work, punctuality and commitment is required from all cast members at all times and the production team have the right to remove persons who do not show these qualities
5. Last but not least the production process will be fun and we hope to create a great family bond, so pre-madonnas and those with no sense of humour will not be permitted... just kidding. Hope to see lots of talent at the audition!
