MANCHESTER AND NORTH WEST BASED ACTORS NEEDED FOR NEW STAGE THRILLER BASED ON THE BRITISH FILM ‘EXAM’

Vertigo Theatre Productions are one of the North West’s premiere fringe theatre company’s who have come to the world’s attention due to their critically acclaimed UK Premieres of Off Broadway hits including Bert V Royal’s ‘Dog Sees God’, Psycho Beach Party and Die, Mommie, Die by Charles Busch and The Breakfast Club by John Hughes. The company also develop original works written by the in house writers such as the hit thriller ‘M’, the drama ‘Rage’, the outrageous comedy Christmas Sorority Massacre’, the award nominated ‘OUT!’ and the recent critical acclaimed hits ‘Numb’ and ‘cLOOless’

This year is set to be an exciting year for the company as they bring the American one man show ‘Desperately Seeking the Exit’ and it’s star Peter Michael Marino to Manchester direct from New York, as well as open their original comedy ‘Bellhop’. Now the company can add another great show to the line up which is the world premiere stage adaptation of the British film ‘Exam’. Exam will also mark the first show under Vertigo’s off shoot company GenX Productions.

With a screen play by Stuart Hazeldine that is adapted to the stage by the Gen X team, Exam tells the story of 8 talented candidates who are in the final stage of landing a dream job with a powerful and mysterious company. Left together in one room for 80 mins, the group must complete a simple task, answer one question and the job is yours......unfortunately for the group, nobody knows what the question is. It’s not long before the group start to turn on each other and tensions spill over tin to anger and violence and the group show just how far they are willing to go to get what they want. Are you brave enough to take the Exam?

The play opens Sept 4th – 8th at the Three Minute Theatre, Manchester. Rehearsals are in Stalybridge each Sunday from June 3rd. Actors would need to be able to attend those rehearsals. This is unpaid work but a great opportunity to be a part of the first ever stage cast of this exciting thriller. Vertigo also receive a lot of publicity thanks to the companies past success so actors will get some great exposure.

We are looking for male and female actors aged between 25 – 35.
