This is a chance for you to take part in a global community project to put "Jacko and David - The Janitor and the Serpent" and "Horrible Stories My Dad Told Me" onto YouTube for FREE so that deprived children can have someone read to them.
It is just me doing this and an army of volunteers who think it's a good idea.
The voiceover that volunteers will be assisting with is being integrated with the PDF version of the book, and then placed on YouTube, making it really helpful and fun for children.
You can see links to the PDFs of the books above. An early sample of what we are doing is here - http://youtu.be/CK0TeABgMtM (please check it out!) but we will be improving that this week.
The book is being translated in over 40 languages and we are looking for the book to be read in as many languages, sexes and accents as possible.
Jacki Loeb has volunteered to do the recordings in an Australia female voice.
Another of the various interesting volunteers from North America is Ted The Golden Voice who was a homeless man who got off the streets when someone's YouTube video went viral (Google it - Ted Williams Homeless Man With Golden Voice CBS NEWS (REAL VIDEO) [INTERVIEW]). I think that sums up the spirit of this project.
The books will be one of the most translated and available in literary history and hopefully will put many smiles on many children's faces around the world. For some it will be the only book ever read to them in their native language.
If you are interested in recording one or both books a volunteer basis, or if you know someone else who would be, then that would be great.
Kind regards,
David
