Jak The Lad - a well established gigging classic rock band require new lead/rhythm guitarist to replace on of our founding members who will shortly depart for new musical pastures.
Jak The Lad is a 5-piece (vocals, 2 guitars, bass, drums) classic rock covers band that plays regular gigs in Dorset and Hampshire. We are looking to recruit an easygoing, accomplished guitarist for lead and rhythm duties. Backing vocal capabilities also appreciated.
Jak The Lad was founded in 1989 and has been together ever since, although the line-up has changed over the years. The current line-up has been amongst the most successful and has become one of the best supported acts on the local pub and club scene.
Prospective candidates should be able to commit to 2-3 gigs (mainly weekends) per month, plus regular rehearsals. You should have your own gear and transport, and preferably live in the Poole / Bournemouth / Christchurch area.
Other key attributes for the successful candidate will include; a sense of humour, team spirit, the ability to lift heavy equipment and buy the odd round of drinks. Egomaniacs and those with unrestrained creative pretensions need not apply.
Band members are aged between 35 and 45 years. We're not ageist, just wanted to let you know what you might be getting into.
Jak The Lad are primarily renowned for being an accomplished good time party band that play a wide range of guitar based rock music. Current influences and set list includes; Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, Beatles, Georgia Satellites, U2, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Free, Bad Company, ZZ Top, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day, Chuck Berry, BB King.
Jak The Lad are looking to find a suitable guitarist who will fit well into an established band. Once a shortlist of potential candidates has been established, the band will invite candidates to audition in the Bournemouth area.
