Do you know a child with an inspiring story to tell? Would they like to appear on CBBC?
Who are we are looking for?

We are looking for unique children aged between 8 and 19 years old who have an inspiring story to tell to take part in a new series of the successful documentary strand 'My Life' for CBBC. The young person must be engaging and happy to relate their story – be it that they want their voice to be heard or they think it may help other young people who watch the programme.

The Series
The series, about children and for children, takes a look at issues that affect young people, through their eyes. Many of the children will have faced or be facing some type of adversity, but all have an inspiring, positive and uplifting story to tell. Others will be doing something unique and fascinating.
To give you an idea, previous programming in the series includes Young Mayor (a child campaigning to be the next young mayor), Billboard Kids (children with facial disfigurement who take part in a national advertising campaign), My Dad in Prison (a child who is embarking upon a new parent visiting scheme to see his dad in prison), Children of the Road (young travellers who are about to be evicted from their site), Ballet Boys (3 brothers who all love ballet and their journey to follow their dreams), Stammer School(a group of children with stammers who take part in a summer school to gain confidence), Boy Racers (3 top go-kart racing drivers competing for the World Championships title), Staying Awake (following a child’s journey of dealing with narcolepsy), Big Brother (a young boy with dwarfism and his relationship with his brother) and Toy Soldiers (children who are dealing with their dads leaving for war).

The children
The children are at the heart of all of the programmes and we would love to talk to any young people who you think may want to tell their story and fit the bill. Almost always the child or children will be embarking upon some type of personal journey, or undertaking a challenging event or activity. They may well have a unique family setup or an interest that means their lifestyle is different to the rest of their peers. The young child may have a medical condition yet be doing something extraordinary and inspirational despite this.
The idea is that children at home will both learn and grow from watching the show.

Timeline
We are looking for children NOW as we are hoping to speak with potential contributors as soon as possible to see if they have the right story and qualities to be in the show.

WE NO LONGER require health related stories please, only stories on interesting hobbies and events in a childs life that you feel would make an interesting story.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
