"That'll Be The Day" Buddy returns to Australia
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story will return to Australia to premiere on 3 February, 2009, being the 50th Anniversary of the death of this music legend.
Auditions for roles in the musical are about to start.
All audition enquiries are to be directed to:
Gold Coast auditions from 9 June
Brisbane auditions from 11 June
Melbourne auditions from 16 June
Sydney auditions from 23 June
Christchurch auditions from 30 June

Relative information:

1. Rehearsals will be on the Gold Coast, commencing on the 1st December 2008. All artists will be required to re-locate to the Gold Coast for rehearsals, under the provisions of the appropriate Industrial Awards, and then move to Sydney on the 19th of January for the opening at Star City Casino on the 3rd of February, followed by the National Tour.
2. The Producers will only be issuing Run of The Play contracts or fixed term contracts in accordance with the provision of the appropriate Industrial Award.
3. All artists and representatives of the artists are advised that there are no billing arrangements for any of the roles other than what will be recorded on the title page of the program in line with all international productions of “Buddy The Musical”. If this is a problem, then individual artists need not audition.
4. The artist playing the role of Buddy Holly may play 6 performances per week. The artist playing the role of the alternative Buddy Holly may play 2 performances per week. The performance schedule will be nominated by the Director.
5. These auditions include casting for potential replacement artists, so artists currently under a contract that conflicts with our itinerary season are encouraged to audition for future opportunities.
