SMAG dance collective is seeking 4 dancers for the 2008-2009 dance season.
About SMAG Dance Collective, Inc.
SMAG is a contemporary fusion dance company that is entering it's 6th season as a performing company. The company consists of 8 dancers and 1 artistic director. SMAG features 10 month contracts, extensive performing, free classes, exposure to a major contemporary dance company and opportunity to teach classes and choreograph. SMAG is based in Dayton, Ohio and has begun actively acquiring touring performances for the 2008-2009 season. SMAG has toured in Minneapolis, MN, Indianapolis, IN and Louisville, KY.
SMAG is hiring dancers for the 2008-2009 season. All dancers will be expected to perform for all scheduled performances including performances scheduled under 4 weeks notice with a minimum of 2 weeks notice. All performances scheduled under 4 weeks notice will be paid an additional $40 per diem. The dancer will be expected to learn the repertory as set by the Artistic Director and learn new works choreographed by incoming choreographers for the season. Dancers normally learn between 12 to 18 works per season.
- Dancers will also be expected to retain all choreography and be prepared on short notice to perform the works.
- Dancers are not expected to provide input, however input may be asked.
- Dancers need not be fully trained, but must show a strong desire to achieve and dance from their heart and soul.
- All technical specialties, abilities and levels are welcome to audition. All body types are welcome to apply.

Dancers must be committed and open to contemporary dance. All levels and techniques welcome.
