Harry Newbrook
Headshot

Harry Newbrook

21 from Derby, United Kingdom
Model, Actor
I currently live in a small village, but also have the experience of living in a town, a city and in Spain, therefore experiencing a variety of ways of life and I draw from those experiences to be a versatile actor. I am willing to travel and based centrally, with easy access to motorways to the north, south, east and west. I have never been in the financial position to be able to attend accredited drama schools but believe that talent can be found anywhere and I have the determination to prove that acting is my future. When I act, I don't just act - I become the character. I enjoy playing Pool, watching my favourite football team and playing computer games. I also like to research the net for workshops and auditions and anything else that can help my acting career. I also enjoy watching films and when I do, I am also watching out for acting techniques. I have a full driving license and my own car.

  • Modeling

No professional modelling experience, but willingness to learn! Take direction well and have been described as photogenic with a variety of looks. I have taken part in a photo shoot at Milaeon Studios in which I gained some valuable experience and gave me the encouragement to achieve more in the modelling industry.

    Acting

Anne Lee School of Speech & Drama.
    Stagecoach.
    Ashby School.
    Burton College.
In school, college and private classes, I have performed various roles, lead and ensemble, acting and dancing for both small and large audiences. My favourite performance at college was playing Kenickie in the college performance of Grease.
I have attained the following qualifications:
    GCSE Drama.
BTec National Diploma in Performing Arts.
Guildhall School of Music & Drama Character Study Grades 3 & 4 passed With Honours.
I am versatile in age and characters, learn lines quickly, take direction well, have an ear for accents and ability to improvise. I have been a background artist on a television commercial for student funding. With regards to acting on camera, in 2008, I played lead roles in 2 short films. One Director contacted me after seeing my StarNow Profile and at the audition, another Director asked if I would also be in his short film. One character was an evil 17 year old drug-taking bully, the other a sensitive, misunderstood 16 year old. Please see my video clips. So far this year, I have played roles in a further five short films, so hope to have some more video clips to show on my Profile soon.
I would now like to advance to longer dramas and films or television, as I feel I have now gained valuable camera experience, but realise there is still much to learn and I am eager to do so.
I have attended private Workshops; one called "Blood & Guts" where I learnt how to safely fire handguns on stage and set using blanks and the use of fake blood effects. Please see photos.
Another workshop I attended was called Fighting for Film with American Director J Allen Suddeth, where I learnt how to fight on set, including camera angles. I am trying to attend as many other Workshops as possible to enhance my knowledge and experience.
Distance is no problem as I am based centrally with easy access to motorways to the north, south, east and west.
