The inspiration for this short film comes from every day awkward situations that we all find ourselves in. Things like waving at a friend and realising it is not a friend at all, in fact it is a complete stranger, now what do you do. Do you brush your hand through your hair and pretend you weren't waving or duck you head and pretend it never happened.
The film revolves around one central character, "Julian" a man in his late twenties. The basic narrative for the film is Julian on his way to the pub to meet a friend "Mike". As he walks to meet his friend he goes through a number of embarrassing situations much like the ones mentioned above.
He ends up in the pub and realises his friend is not there and doesn’t know what to do with himself. Sit down, stand up, buy a drink don't buy a buy drink, ring his friend or not. Many other embarrassing things, like awkwardness with the bar staff will also happen to him.
The film ends with Mike entering the pub, not being able to find him, and looking just a sheepish. Revealing that we all go though these awkward situations from time to time and there is no real reason to get so worried about it. This will be a light hearted film and should be great fun to make
The film itself has no dialogue but actors will be required to do a voiceover, expressing the thoughts and feelings of Julian. The actor laying mike will not need to do so.

The film will be shot in Stoke on Trent and once completed (around Dec 2007) this film will be submitted to various short film festivals around the world, and will hopefully be screen at various local screenings too.
This is a final year student drama for Media Production Staffordshire University and a film I have wanted to make for a long time.
I am having a screen test on the 18 of October and I look forward to seeing all applicants who can make it. For those how can’t please specify when you are free and it may be possible to arrange another addition.
