Brass bands needed for Carmen opera UK tour

Casting no. 71196 - All regions, UK
| Casting complete: Applications now closed. |
A large opera and ballet company is looking for brass musicians/bands for UK tour of 'Carmen'

We are a large opera and ballet company and will be touring our performance of Carmen across the UK in Autumn 2008. As a new idea we will be using local brass bands for a part in the opera. We would require the band to be brass and have around 6-12 members in. Unfortunately this would be voluntary, but it would prove to be an excellent and enjoyable opportunity for your band and would also provide you with great publicity! If you are interested in participating in this we will send you a copy of the score and a CD of the music. The music the brass band will be playing is the ‘Espana Cani’ which is traditional played in Spain to begin a bull fight. The band would begin the performance by playing this piece and parading into the theatre with other members of the cast/ extras etc. The orchestra would then follow on from by beginning the actual opera.
You would need to be at theatre for 5.30pm rehearsals on the day of the performance. (Eastbourne has matinee therefore 1pm rehearsals on the 7th Sep)
