Kate Branch (née Kate Shearer) is a photographer who resides in sydney. Kate Branch has two university degrees. A Bachelor (BFA) of Fine Art where she majored in Photography and minored in jewellery making, and a Master (MA) of Art Therapy (Fine Art and psychology), where Kate used the art of photography to raise self confidence and self esteem in others.

Q: How do you meet most of your clients these days?
A: Like most photographers in Sydney my clientele finds me- through the internet. Its all about photography websites these days.

Q: Who are your main inspirations for your work.
A: Definitely fashion photographers. I enjoy taking photo's that make women feel and look beautiful. And as a sydney photographer, I meet so many amazing people.

Q: Do you enjoy portrait, glamour, wedding, newborn, baby, or family photography most?
Good questions. I love it all. I love portrait photography because you can capture someones serious personality. I love glamour because you then see their cheeky side. wedding photography is amazing because you are creating a memory of someones special moment. Newborn photography takes my breath away. Baby photography always put a smile on my face. And family photography always reminds me of whats important in life. However you forgot to ask me about taking pregnancy photos- they are amazing as you are capturing life being made. A true miracle!

Q: Oh, yes. So that is quite common..to have pregnancy photos taken?
A: Pregnancy photos are very popular. They are as important as a family portrait. Every one thinks to take a family portrait, but don't forget that amazing womanly shape that should be celebrated.
Q: Do all Sydney photographers have the same style?
A: I have many friends in the industry and we all have our strengths. Some are fashion photographers and adore working with designers and models, others are journalistic portrait photographers and want to capture every politician and serious actor in Sydney. I love meeting people from all walks of life and for one moment making them important. I once had a client wanting some glamour photography. After the session she said it was the most beautiful photo of her anyone had ever taken. I felt honoured that I had make her feel so special. Thats why I do this job. Thats what makes me tick.
