We are urgently looking for two male singer-actors with strong harmonization skills, good comic timing and some movement experience for two lead and one important support/ensemble role, in order to complete our cast of 18. For all roles the ability to read music is an advantage but not necessary. Genuine stage presence and a fun, team-oriented attitude are both absolutely vital.

Plot summary
---------------
Townsville Comprehensive is an ailing school like any other - until the day that teacher Arnold Finkler is falsely accused by one of his students. Rumour spreads and - encouraged by local agony aunt Jean McDonald, Townsville's undisputed moral matriarch - the parents rally together, ready to do whatever it takes to clean up the neighbourhood...but will the truth prevail? Moral outrage, betrayal, sex and secrets meet love, truth and friendship for the ultimate showdown - all through the medium of song!

'Kiddy-Fiddler on the Roof', a musical satire on tabloid hysteria and middle-England paranoia, which debuted in Feb 07 (to sell out audiences), this year goes to Edinburgh. We have a 10pm slot in the Roxy Art House (200 seat) main space, as well as considerable early press interest.

Audition and payment details
----------------------------
As usual for the Fringe, we ask that you are able to find accommodation of your own in Edinburgh for the duration of the run, or that you meet the cost of accommodation that we can find for you. Potential applicants are advised that they must be available for the duration of the Fringe run (end of July and all of August), as well as for the rehearsal period 18-25th July.

Please apply now to take part or for more information.

Please note: We are only looking for actors living in or very near London as we are unable to offer travel expenses, or any payment for participation.

Tommy Atkins

Males, aged 18 to 24 from the United Kingdom

A pupil at Townsville Comprehensive; the sweet, well-meaning but ultimately friendless "fat kid", whose uncle is Jack Grimes - the town's ruthless newspaper editor. Tommy is pragmatic and just as much an outsider as Peter. It is absolutely crucial that the role be played by an obviously overweight/solid/heavy-built actor with a boyish face.

Horace Bolmondeley

Males, aged 45 to 58 from the United Kingdom

High Baritone - One of the leaders of the parents’ campaign against Arnold Finkler, Mr Bolmondeley takes his role as Chair of the PTA seriously. His sexuality is highly dubious; despite being married with children, Horace—the most vigorous supporter of agony aunt Jean McDonald—is closeted to a degree that would embarrass even a Tory minister. Requires good basic tap skills. Comic timing and genuine stage presence essential.
