Monica Holm Quartet was formed in september 2011 by performer, songwriter and composer Monica Sik Holm. She had previously been composing and producing her own musicals and gigging on her own, and was very eager to take her own quartet on the road! The search for the perfect band members resulted in collaboration with three fabulous musicians, and Monica's music shortly developed in the band to a unique fusion of musical theatre, cabaret style, jazz and pop, making each of the band members main strengths shine through in the sound.
As musical theatre is and will always be Monica's passion, she tends to write songs in an expressive theatre style with lyrics that develops and songs that tell a story. This combined with groovy rhythms and standard jazz gives you something in the style of what you would get if you mixed Jason Robert Brown, Quincy Jones and Cole Porter, with a touch of fairytales, pink champagne and wind chimes.
