Hung Up On You
Absolutely show stopping. Smooth pop- friendly voice. Fans of Colbie Caillat will really enjoy.
Chantelle spent the past few months working alongside Producer Rob Agostini, who has worked with artists such as Tim & Jean, Goodnight Tiger and Naturally 7, at Soundbaker Studios preparing her debut EP for release.
“Just the Beginning is a short album full of wonderful songs and brimming with potential. Chantelle is a powerful young singer who displays an ability to connect with the listener well, and she really feels the lyrics of her songs… Chantelle will be sure to attract plenty of new fans with this album. Listeners will do well to keep an eye on this rising young star who is only going to shine brighter as her career continues.” – Bobby Jo Valentine
Chantelle was introduced to the world of music at the age of 7 after volunteering to learn piano at her school. At the age of 12 she scored a place in her first band at Quinns Baptist College, being the first ‘Rock chick’ in her school to shred lead guitar. The band performed at many assemblies, fetes, open days, churches and cafes. In 2010 she unexpectedly joined a band called Underst8ed after being rallied by some extremely talented musicians to take part in the Joondalup Battle of the Bands at Crush Nightclub. They performed some of their own original music and the crowd went wild.
“Some people even sung along to our lyrics! Best feeling in the world”
Chantelle also competed in the 2010 Telstra Road to Tamworth and got to perform alongside Australia’s country stars; James Blundell, Jonny Taylor and Tenielle, at the Perth Royal Show. She won the Cottesloe Beach Hotel Open Mic Night in mid 2011 before being flown out to Karratha by WAM to perform at the Telstra Road to Discovery and do a radio interview with ABC.
Her debut EP 'Just the Beginning' received amazing reviews from people around the globe.
A fresh year 12 graduate, Chantelle is currently studying Creative Music Technology at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and has met budding filmmakers who are using her music in their work.
She was nominated as female artist of the month in StarCentral Magazine in February 2011 and was featured in the magazine in March. She was also featured in the July issue of Recording Magazine as the Spotlight Artist. On top of that her music is currently being played on Jelli Radio in New York.
She is currently in discussion with two independent record labels based in NSW who are eager to give Chantelle a deal. She is taking all the necessary steps to launch herself right into the music industry.
Ever since she was little she knew she would never be able to break away from the world of music “It’s a place where you can just breakaway from the world, be yourself and play from the heart, no judgement.” She has taught herself to play every instrument she can get her hands on and is never without musical inspiration.
This girl is one to watch out for, who knows where she could be in a few years from now. Let’s all hope this really is 'Just the Beginning'.
