Dennis Dean Singer/Guitarist 39. Dennis started playing guitar at 9 and turned professional at 17 years of age. Toured in several bands in throughout Qld, N.T. and N.S.W. in a varied career in music. The most successful bands being (The Digits and Fineprint) who supported acts such as I.N.X.S, George Thorogood, Billy Thorpe, Richard Clapton and many more at venues such as [Bombay Rock and the Jet Club]
At 21 he decided to pursue a career as a Singer Guitarist and started with a one-year trip throughout Europe working in venues around southern Spain and Southern England, which gave him the passion for entertaining.
Dennis then headed for the Sydney Club/Pub circuit working for agencies [Cordon Blur, Classic Promotions and Peak promotions] as a Solo/Duo/Trio Vocalist/Guitarist, which included bookings on (Fairstar Cruises) as a Guest Artist.
Being raised on the Gold Coast Dennis headed back to Queensland.
With now 16 years of Solo/Duo/Trio/Band work in S.E. Qld and Northern NSW and a regular entertainer on the local Cruise Boats. Dennis now divides his time between his Solo work, and also a successful Girl/Guy duo called [ Sorrento] with Nikki Colombo- [who is also on Starnow.]
With regular work at Clubs, Taverns, Major Hotels, Residencies at Jupiter’s and Treasury Casinos and Corporate work ensures Dennis and Sorrento will be around for sometime longer.
Dennis singing style is in between Sting and Chris Issack and his fiery lead guitar playing featuring his fender 1973 telecaster guitar and cole clark acoustic has hints of Santana and Eric Clapton... The music Dennis Dean and Sorrento Duo play is popular and contemporary and with a huge repertoire of songs with most age groups and musical tastes catered for. Most songs are well-known covers and are always well received by audiences everywhere. The style of music is not only suitable for dancing, but is flexible and familiar enough to accommodate all situations. Realistic backing sequences helps to create a full sound (suitable for dancing), and allows Dennis the flexibility to showcase his guitar playing talents. The backing sequences are not too 'busy', thus avoiding any 'karaoke' overtones.
Dennis is a Professional full time musician that can create the perfect atmosphere that you require, whether it be Up Beat and Party music all night or mellow acoustic songs.
