"Lipstick On My Muffin" is a romantic comedy short film, shot in Manchester. The film is in the post-production process and needs to be released by the 18th of May. The Producers are looking now for a talanted jazz composer who could give a touch of romance and film noir style to our Production.
Phil is in his thirties, he is single, he is on the dole, and he is living a dream. In his mind Phil is a cool, silver-tongued, highly intelligent living in a fantasy 1940s world, where women are ‘dames’, cigarettes are cool and life is soundtracked by jazz.. The waitress(Rose) at the coffee shop, where he spends most of his days, has been in love with Phil for a long time, but hasn’t the courage to make her feelings known. Phil is completely oblivious to this fact, his sights are set elsewhere; Rose's colleague, “The Dame” works in the same coffee shop. Dave is infatuated with The Dame. He has never spoken to her; he doesn’t even know her name, but as Phil calling himself a detective, he has been borderline stalking her for weeks.
Pfil lives a life of routine. He goes to the same places, does the same things, drinks coffee, smokes cigarettes, helps old ladies find their missing pets, and spies on The Dame. He mimics the lives of his role models: detectives from 1940s detective films. “Lipstick on My Muffin” follows Phil on one such day and takes a closer look at the clash between fantasy and reality at play in his world.
