Grosvenor Park Young Theatre Company
Chester Performs is looking for young people aged 16 – 24 years, to join Grosvenor Park Young Theatre Company.
Building on the phenomenal success of Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, Chester Performs is creating a unique theatre experience for 30 young people from Cheshire and the surrounding areas. The Company will be mentored by the theatre’s professional cast and crew to produce a third mini production, using Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre’s stage and props.
Led by Director Elizabeth Newman, the young Company will work intensively from 23rd July to 13th August to rehearse and perform a prequel to Twelfth Night. The play will be written especially for the season by a young writer.
The production will be performed alongside Twelfth Night and a darkly comic ‘sequel’, Masters Are You Mad?, written by Glyn Maxwell. Since its creation in 2010, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre “has rapidly established itself as an attractive, northern alternative to the Globe and Regent’s Park.” (The Guardian).
The following opportunities are open to young people with a keen interest in theatre, who live in the Cheshire, Wirral, North Shropshire or North Wales area:
• Actors (up to 15)
• Stage management team
• Assistant Directors
• Costume Designers
• Assistant Musical Director / Composer
• Assistant Movement Director / Choreographer

Please send a CV and covering letter, stating the role you are interested in, why you want to take part and any previous experience you may have with your application (if you are interested in acting, it would be helpful to know whether you have any singing, dancing experience or play an instrument).

Applicants shortlisted to act will be invited to an audition in Chester on Saturday 16th or Sunday 17th June Shortlisted production team applicants will be invited to interview the w/c 11th June.
Successful Applicants will be notified by Friday 22nd June
If you are offered a place on the project you will need to be fully available from Monday 23rd July through to (and including) Monday 13th August 2012 between 10am and 5pm.
Performances have been scheduled to take place in the theatre at 2pm on Sunday 12th and 7.30pm on Monday 13th August. Tickets for both will be available early July.
