A Long Walk Over City Streets is a short (3-5 minute) piece being created by Media Production and Film Studies students from the University of Lincoln. This is NOT a student project however, it is a University supported film commission being paid for by Lincolnshire Media Education for use in schools. The commission is for £500, £100 of which has been set aside for cast payments, only two actors are required for this piece so there is a total one-time payment of £50 each, we may also be able to cover some of the actor's travel costs if this is required. The film is a silent black and white comedy in the style of 1920's classics from Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. The story follows a man whose top floor apartment in New York becomes invaded by a wave of colour, in an effort to escape this colour the man attempts a series of stunts to attempt to make it to the safety of the apartment across the street from his, which so happens to belong to a beautiful young woman. The stunts include an attempt at a jump and an attempt to cross the street dangling from a clothes line. Eventually however the woman produces a ladder, which the man is able to walk over once it is placed between the windows. Both of the parts call for a strong and engaging physical presence onscreen, the lack of any dialogue means that we are looking for expressive and naturally funny actors who can assert themselves through emotive expressions and physical comedy. The film is currently still in pre-production, however a final draft of the script is ready for viewing and the director is available for any questions you may have about the film. The film will be shot within the grounds of the University of Lincoln either in a Television studio or a green screen capable photography studio. Thank you for reading.
The woman is aged in her twenties/early thirties and is of average height and a small, slender build with flowing blonde hair. She is almost angelic in her beauty and shows signs that she is of a heightened intellect, but never looks down on others because of her gifts. She is kindly in nature and never misses an opportunity to help others when they're in need. She has long lived opposite a young man whom she finds very attractive, but has never spoken to.
