| About me: | | Hi there, my nickname is Paps, I'm a young British Asian who feels that British Asians are not represented enough in mainstream media in particular modelling whereby they are worried dark skin will not sell magazines, of course it won't if nobody puts us there in the first place! :P
My passion is working in the media industry and I have a confident drive to make it to the top as a determined and dedicated individual.
I always make people laugh and giggle at random things, lifes too short to not have fun! :D and making the most out of life keeps me a happy healthy person.
I would like to build a professional relationship with the people I work with as I believe that this is an important foundation in any media work being successful especially with the industry being so competitive. |

Acting experience
As an actress I can express emotions through my voice and body language, any character I play feels natural to me.
When I was younger, I was part of the school Christmas nativity play as an angel and also outside of school I acted as a Bollywood dancer/singer and an Indian Guru in 3 productions by my temple. This is when I realised that I felt confident in my acting talent and wanted to carry on developing myself as an actress.
In high school, I was part of a Maypole Dance production and I played the part of munchkin in the Wizard of Oz play, I was also part of 2 Shakespeare plays as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth and Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream and those roles came about as my English and Art teachers saw potential in me as a student in their classes.
At college, I was exposed to more backstage work involved in acting when I took a Media Studies A level course, I was involved in an academic project, casting various roles and acting as a victim for 2 spoof Horror movie trailers.
I'd like to attend a stage school and would love to work on pop music videos, childrens dramas, comical short films and adverts, would love to work on my favourite British soap, Eastenders too.

Television experience
Currently am being featured in a BBC 2 documentary promoting a new face gel and have been cast as a teenager in a music video.
A while ago, got selected to attend Market Kitchen to get filmed talking about the food whilst tasting it which was great fun.
Attended CD:UK - Busted special and be an audience member right at the front. I have since been selected to attend Britains Got Talent audience and other shows like Ready Steady Cook and Brainiac.
Have been selected as a interviewee for BBC production about arranged marriages as I had a lot of valuable information regarding this issue.
I would like to be involved in acting as mentioned above, I'd also want to do some voiceovers, it would be interesting to mimic an Indian accent as I can speak Bengali and Hindi fluently. I also can do Spanish too.

Music experience
I sound like Sugababes but with my own added flavour ;) I have been blessed in being able to express myself through singing and songwriting in the pop/ballad/r'n'b/rock genre.
I put myself in college choir and sang there in both the alto and soprano.
I enjoy singing in acapella and singing alongside instrumental and piano played tracks, both of which I practise on karaoke sessions with friends and when making youtube videos, I would like to work on more clearer youtube videos and pitch some of my own songs in a recording studio.
Recently I was chosen to go and sing in Singstar Studios for a karaoke battle, I won!
Ultimately I'd love to work in a girl pop/ballad/r'n'b/rock band and be able to contribute my musical talent to further the band in mainstream.

Dancing experience
At the moment, I do loads of freestyle dancing as its always fun dancing and it comes natural to my body, I have a VCR compilation of all the dancing I do!
I have choreographed at a childrens camp teaching kids how to move to up tempo music and also choreographed a whole dance sequence from a Bollywood song in a temple production with other people.
I'm also confident in my ability in hip hop dance, I completely love how the beats flow with the all the body poppin and slow sway moves, I look forward to the day that I join a dance studio.

Magazine experience
The most major piece of journalism I did was create a website about an Asian singer called Raghav. I won second place in a BBC Radio 1 competition for best website, Raghav and the BBC Radio team all wrote to me to thank me for my hard work and they gave me lots of goodies!
I have since written a few articles about student life in London which were published in a magazine called Springboard. I have also written a letter before to Smash Hit magazine which the editor was impressed with and personally wrote back to thank me.
I am currently writing a feature for the London paper regarding the rise in London travel fare since the 80's. Hopefully it will be published and so I will continue to pursue my hobby for feature articles in this paper.
Currently I am a SEXY SELLER on sellstudentbooks website and I have sold many books thanks to my pretty face.
