Dancing
In 2010 I completed the B Comm (Theatre/Media) course at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst. While completing this course I gained experience in a range of disciplines, including event management, as well a variety of performance styles: classical, Shakespeare, masked theatre, puppetry, circus, mumming, children’s theatre, site specific performance, roving, contemporary dance and physical performance. This experience was matured through the involvement in over 30 shows and events, during which I held a variety of creative and leadership roles, and included multiple children’s shows and roving entertainment. Additionally, during this time I found paid opportunities as a children’s entertainer, face painter and fire performer.
Following this course, I completed an internship at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre, I continue to volunteer at various events – first in Bathurst and now in Sydney, and have attained a number of paid casual positions. Currently I am employed as a Gallery Officer for the Powerhouse Museum, and I volunteer as an Invigilator for Performance Space at Carriageworks. These positions have developed my skill in dealing with a range of difficult customers and resolving customer complaints.
Performing and entertaining in costume, in suits or in face paint, remains a deep love of mine and my enthusiasm for this potential role cannot be exaggerated. Furthermore, though I have limited professional dance training, I know my quirky sense of fun and shameless enthusiasm once in costume will leave no guest bored. I believe I would grow well within this role and become a positive and valued asset. I look forward to hearing from you.
