When I was in college I was cast as one of the witches in Macbeth. It's one of my favourite roles to date purely due to the fact that it gave me an overwhelming respect for the different forces at work in not only our world but the world beyond and the world we can't see but can most certainly feel. Through my work as this witch I focused on her unearthly air, a dangerously dark air like that forever lingering evil presence that one can never fully escape from. As you can imagine I did a lot of work on her physicality, researching Butoh, Paganism and of course witchcraft. It was a fascinating journey and a sometimes petrifying one into the 'dark' but it gave me the utmost respect for its force in our universe and a far greater understanding for its presence in existence, which for me is an important element of drama.
