Stuart 'Stueybonzo' McLaren picked up a pair of drumsticks at the age of 11 and developed his talent through lessons at school, while playing parts in the Jazz/Rock Ensemble group. Further experience in playing to an audience was gained through school musical productions like Grease, West Side Story and some school Eisteddfod performances.
Drumming influences and style range through bands like Led Zeppelin, The Police, Simple Minds, Soundgarden & Tananas to name just a few. John Scofield, Love and Money, Michael Franks appeal to his jazzier percussive technique. He has played in numerous bands on stage and in studio over the last 25 years. McLaren adapts to an array of musical palettes including rock genres, funk, pop, some jazz and also experimental electronic sequencing like trip hop, drum & bass and dub.
He's recorded in London's Abbey Road Studios with The Shotguns, and played in a host of bands at most top live venues and festivals around London and worldwide.
