| Statuesque, Paris – born Valerie Ahneman lately finds herself happily immersed in a second career, pursuing a musical ambition she thought she left behind in her teens. The vivacious, platinum blond chanteuse released in 2008 her first recording, A La Mode, an exceptional collection featuring contemporary favorites and classic French songs, including “La Vie En Rose,” “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien,” “Fly me to the Moon” “Je Cherche Un Homme,” “Game Of Love,” “Crazy” and “C’est Si Bon.” Valerie puts a unique twist on thirteen tunes with chic arrangements courtesy of her enthusiastic group of musicians - known collectively with Valerie as Bon Chic Bon Genre . They recorded A la Mode, whimsically mixing a range of musical styles including Latin, jazz, funk, soft rock and reggae. The recording resulted in the building of a show entitled: Souvenirs: 50 years of French and American Signature Songs, which the group currently performs throughout the New York Metropolitan area. | |
