Looking to join a function band that are serious about great music.
Emily is an award winning vocalist based in London with many years of live and recording experience. She has a tested range of 4.1 octaves, her highest note being a D6 in whistle register and her lowest note reaching well into the tenor range. Emily is also a capable teacher of safe whistle register use and singer's riffing techniques in the 4th, 5th and 6th octaves.
Emily is quite accustomed to singing in front of audiences ranging in capacity from 5 to over 5,000 and has had the pleasure of performing several times in the Royal Albert Hall. She has sung to the Archbishop and to Stephen Fry, has worked with members of Status Quo and Fairport Convention, as well as the personal musicians of Michael Jackson, Celine Dion and The Beatles.
She has performed across the UK as part of high end function bands for a decade, and has depped as a session musician for both static and touring bands.
Her experience has led her to be involved with BBC Radio and Television, as well as Sky television and the West End. She is also experienced as a lead vocalist and soprano section leader for The Reading Community Gospel Choir, who found fame on the BBC Gospel Choir of the year 2015 competition. She gives singing masterclass sessions privately every now and then, and by day is an Audio Producer in Leicester Square for a television broadcast agency, casting and directing recording artists and singers for huge brands such as Disney Princesses, Barbie and Colgate.
Emily was classically trained from a young age, and spent her childhood years in music academies across the country. In her teenage years, she began studying harmonics, vocal technique and began her tutoring studies. In her early twenties, Emily trained in Rock, Soul, Jazz and Gospel spending years learning highly complex and difficult techniques from respected directors, musicians and composers.
Five years on and Emily has won awards for her technique and performances, has worked with the BBC many times and has been headhunted to perform with some of the music industry's biggest bands as both a backing vocalist and a soloist.
Emily owns an Audix OM5 mic as well as a standard Shure mic. Her Audix is however her preferred mic. She has a small home recording studio where she tinkers in her free time.
