Runner or Assistant ability

Hi, I'm Josh Penlington,

Freelance Videographer for a few years now, gaining more and more experience with each project I undertake.

I've been involved in multiple productions, which has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of companies and organisations to name a few; Mencap, De Montfort University, Monostereo Productions, Raya Films and These City Lights Media. These corparate and independant companies have hired me in a variety of roles, anything from a runner to assistant camera operator/gaffer all giving positive feedback towards my drive and work ethic.

My most recent undertaking has been working on a feature film for Raya FIlms for their upcoming release of 'Do Something Jake' where I was hired as a cinematographer and clapper loader which allowed me to get really involved with the project and in turn assist in other areas as well (Due to be released Autumn 2017).

My most notable undertaking so far was a project working with De Montfort University as a videographer to produce, film and edit a short video to help promote and raise the awareness of the universities employability-mentoring scheme. Through this I was required to liaise and organise filming dates with numerous individuals, from current students, university alumni and heads of faculties, to industry professionals, as well as mentors and mentee's currently on the scheme. The process as a whole was a huge success and since then the university has used this video product on their website and several of their social media outlets.

As far as software goes, I have a good knowledge of Final Cut Pro, and also use Adobe Premier Pro when needed. I have a workable knowledge of After Effects, Lightroom, and other pieces of software. As for software and equipment I am unfamiliar with, I am quick learner as I am always eager to further my own knowledge and skill set in this ever-growing industry.

My current cache of equipment includes a Canon 5D Mk III and Canon 600D DSLR with four lenses: 18-35mm, 50mm lens, 24m-105mm and a 70 - 300mm lens. Also a GoPro Hero 4 with a built in LCD screen, a Rode Shotgun Microphone, Konova K2 slider, fluid head tripod and monopod.

I own a car, have a clean driving licence and am willing to travel. Below are links to my personal website and my IMDB profile showing my credits on previous film sets:

Thank you for taking the time to read through here.

Photography website

During my studies at De Montfort University I enrolled in photography as one of my modules for my studies, through this I learnt a vast amount of skills, techniques and topics that come under the term photography, from this I decided I wanted to expand upon my new found knowledge and capabilities as a photographer and go into new types of photography to learn newer techniques to enable me to become a capable photographer in the industry.

I am now working on a freelance basis for event photography companies across the UK.

Examples of my work can be seen through my website:!photography/c22ga
