I Was in the Chorus line of Melbourne City Opera, now known as City Opera, for 3 yrs and it involved alot of stage acting and singing.
I sang as a Baritone in the 5 productions I was involved as a chorus line member I loved it, it was lots of fun and I met many nice people.
I sang as my Catholic Church Singer/cantor each Sunday for the sung Mass i do all the parts required.
I sang for Funerals Services at my church when required and for various Funeral directors and also some Weddings.
My Baritone voice seems to suit the Church music and is often very uplifting on ones spirit but I love many styles of music.
I won some Certificates of Merit and awards for Sacred Solo and Musical theatre in local Eisteddfod's, live Performances.
I entered AUSTRALIA'S GOT TALENT in 2010 were i made the 3rd round and sang the Beautiful Song "SOFTLY AS I LEAVE YOU" for the live Audience at the Princess Theatre in Town I did receive 3 Yes's from the 3 judges at the time that year but sadly I was heart broken when channel 7 called me a week out from the main show and told me I was cut from the final list due to having to eliminate some acts as it was a busy year, I was so sad I cried my eyes out as I drove home from my Grocery shopping at Safeway Woolies in Brighton, I really thought that year it would be the start of something Wonderful and my dream to sing in a more serious and professional manner would finally begin but it was not to be.
It's hard to pick yourself up again after so much effort and practice and dreaming of such an opportunity as Australia's Got Talent can offer a person but after much sadness and disappointment I got back on my feet again and kept doing the thing I loved and healed.
I then entered THE X-FACTOR in 2013 and again made the 3rd round and the live Recordings at the ROD LAVER Arena it was wonderful but the judges didn't like my song choice "WHEN I FALL IN LOVE" and I got 1 yes and 3 no's another let down and disappointment but such is life.
I was a good actor in primary school and one would say I was the class clown who was always joking around and making up funny play's at school but as I grew up I lost my confidence and I guess became more aware of myself and capabilities, being a poor student and finding main stream schooling and education difficult and only passing my 4th year of secondary school which I had to repeat and then feeling lost and unsure what my future held lead to low self esteem and depression, followed by a Nervous Breakdown in my early 20's which took time to heal from which i have now.
I found my teenage years difficult and suffered with anxiety and depression, my love of Martial arts as a early teen and then my interest in Body building in my later teens helped me develop good discipline and routine I was right into my Training and in 1992 I placed 2nd in the local Body building contest THE MR LAKES I was the bigger fellow but the other was more ripped or defined and he won the show.
Then in 1993 I won the NPC IFBB JUNIOR MR MELBOURNE it was awesome.
And then in 1997 I won the A.N.B.B MENS NOVICE MR MELBOURNE 1st place, it was the greatest win of my life in a field of 10 competitors all in great shape I some how made the top 3 then won the main prize, it took me 3 months of dedicated diet and lots of cardio and weight training to get into the Best possible shape of my life but I did it and was so Happy.
I also placed in several other Body building competitions over the years and find Bodybuilding a very good discipline and way to build self esteem and develop a fit and healthy looking body as well.
I train at home now with my own gymnasium set up, its a basic weight set with many Dumbells and a barbell and a bench press and small scale power rack for presses and squatting, it does the job, I'm not as full on as I was in my teens and 20's and 30's with my body building but i love training all the same and try to do an hour of weights in my gymnasium daily and go for a long walk and skip daily also except for Sundays as i'm at church then.
Life takes many twists and turns and life does change and new things and interests like singing come into ones life and require dedication and commitment, life is always evolving which is good, Nothing stays the same for to long things have to change, just like ageing it just happens.
I'm a lot happier now days and optimistic about the future and believe in Myself for once <3
