I started dance classes when I was three years old. However, I first experienced my love for performing arts when I was 9 years old and was invited to take part in the festival team at my local dance school . I was given the opportunity to perform a number of dances and songs competitively, increasing my confidence within musical theatre. Performing in a group, duet and trio has led to me to become a strong team player, helped me to develop accurate timing and taught me how to compliment choreography, all of these skills ultimately preventing injury when dancing . In 2014, I was asked to become a dance leader in my secondary school dance show this gave me the opportunity to choreograph and teach younger students, again I learnt the importance of teamwork and good communication skills. I am currently teaching younger students at my local dance school to attain my IDTA Pre-Associate Modern Exam.
I have won Shepshed Summer Festival 2013 and 2014 ’Most Natural Performer Award’.
I have also won Shepshed Summer Festival's Junior Cabaret Performer (I won this award for my Acro Solo.)
I also do IDTA’s Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz exams and I am currently working towards Advanced 1 Ballet, Intermediate Tap and have completed the IDTA Modern Jazz Grades.
For my Grade 5 Modern Jazz exam I achieved 93 marks out of 100 and was invited to compete in the IDTA International Theatre Dance Awards in Manchester, February 2016. I also achieved 93 marks in my Advanced 2 modern exam and again have been invited to take place in the IDTA international theatre awards for February 2018.
