Talent of the Month – Silvina Neder

Hailing from Argentina, Silvina Neder, is a model based in London. From a young age, she had a passion for modeling, acting, and dancing, but also had a knack for numbers, which led her to a successful career in market research. Now, later in life, she's returning to her early passion and loving life all the more for it!

Let's start from the beginning. How long have you been on StarNow, and what prompted you to join? I have been with StarNow since I decided to start my modeling career, and that was very recently! At one of my first shoots, I met a model that recommended StarNow. I created my profile and I started to receive offers for jobs and castings immediately.

You began your career in market research, but ultimately switched your focus to modeling. What went into that decision? Have you always had an interest in the arts? I have always been very interested in personal images, looks and styles. Also, I am very outgoing, so anytime I had the chance to perform, or strike a pose, I was there. I love theatre and acting as well. I had never paid attention to these feelings seriously, until the last few years, when I realised that everywhere I go, people stop me to say something nice about my hair, my look, or my outfits. I started to realise what I love doing. Thinking of these two things together, I decided I had to do something about it. I was also encouraged by Rosie Collins, my photographer. Every time she photographed me for business, she said I should become a model, that I was "a natural", and that's exactly how it feels now!

Were there any lifestyle changes you had to make in order to make the leap? Did you ever doubt your decision? Actually not many! As I had run my own business for more than fifteen years, I was very used to keeping my agenda, and following work routines. When I am not on shoots, I take care of my social media, contact agencies, and keep my papers up to date. I am also good at adapting to last minute changes. It's the same in any industry where your job is to solve clients' needs. In terms of exercise and healthy food, I am very used to following a daily routine. As I have been doing this for ages, it flows naturally. These habits also make me feel focused and happy.

What challenges did you face in the transition, and how did you work through them? Since I decided to become a model, I have never doubted the decision. It may look like it happened in a short amount of time, but it was a long process of self-knowledge that got me to where I am today.

What was your first modeling or acting job, and how did you land that position? My first modeling job was for a blue-chip business company campaign, and they chose me straight away through an agency. I was lucky; there was no casting on my first job.

What advice would you give your younger self? Be yourself. Know yourself. Relax. Anything you are meant to be, you will be.

How would you like to see your career evolve in the next few years? I would love to focus on fashion, both commercial and editorial. My dream is to be the face of a top high-end brand. I'd also love to give acting a go.

Ideal way to spend a day off in London? Yoga in the morning, followed by brunch in Notting Hill, biking through the parks to visit an exhibition at the Tate Modern or at V&A, or attend a play at the theatre. I'd then finish the day at home with my husband, having pizzas and white wine.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you? Being so social, I don't like the nightlife at all! I love having dinner in pyjamas at home. Fortunately my husband feels the same!

What's the number one thing on your bucket list? Buying our home in London, and settling here, after having lived in different countries for many years.
