Music has become more serious and exciting for me the further I venture into the education and industry. I have many ambitions for university and beyond, as i know how important it is to build a range of skills. I am constantly striving to pursue my ambition to have a career as an artist, and learn as much as i can along the way.
my most recent experience would be a gig for the session skills unit in college. the concert was made up of songs students had chosen, and also picked who plays in their chosen songs. It was a great experience into session playing and managing bands. In late 2014, i posted a public cover of a song from Jesus Christ Superstar, and received a response from Steve Balsamo who played Jesus in the famous production. He traveled across Wales to meet me to talk about vocal techniques and the music business as he knows it. I have been receiving vocal coaching for about six months, and i have improved so much during this time, unlocking techniques such as mixed voice and improvised melisma as well as working on opera and theatre styles. Every year, i put on a mini festival called Pomstock with about 80 people attending each time. I put on three or four bands at the venue, along with professional sound and lighting. there is a camping area and bar so the nights get very lively. I have had acts from heavy metal to acoustic, to Dubstep and Drum 'n' Bass DJs. I also entered a singing competition called Open Mic UK and was just a few votes from making the Finals.
