Whilst in school I performed as the lead role in Bugsy Malone which was a theatre production organised by PACE theatre productions. As a result of this I was scouted to join PACE theatre school and I was involved in this for 2 years. Whilst at PACE I performed in numerous shows including Peter Pan and was involved in the direction and writing of my own plays. As a result, I have had ample experience presenting, performing monologues, writing my own scripts and talking coherently to a large audience.

Additionally, whilst at school I studied drama to Higher receiving an A band 1 for my work. For two consecutive years I received the Kelly MacDonald prize for outstanding acting achievement within the practical and written aspects of drama. I also was able to speak to Kelly MacDonald about her career and she motivated me to pursue a career in the performing arts as a viable option for the future.

Since being at university I have had great opportunities within TV, film and music however due to my studies I have had to decline some roles presented to me. At the end of last year, I received a speaking role in ‘The Nest’ however I had to decline this to focus on my studies. I have had great experience working on the BBC Three show ‘Clique’ and Amazon’s ‘Outlander’ as an extra and received great rapport with Stephen Woolfenden the director.

I have been playing the piano for 15 years and have been involved in a number of events and bands. I was the East Renfrewshire Jazz Band's pianist and we performed at the royal conservatoire in Glasgow. I am a member of a successful ceilidh band which secures around 20 events annually. Additionally, I have my own brand and have played at numerous events as a solo artist. I am most comfortable playing by ear however I can also read music. I am also a capable accordion player having taught myself this two years ago.

Recently, as a lockdown project I have also made myself a professional Instagram account where I take requests of any songs and perform them by ear. My page has amassed over 200 followers and has put me in contact with a lot of new young Scottish bands.

Presenting

I have had ample experience as a presenter within the university’s own radio station and felt right at ease talking to the listeners. Additionally, as President of the Chemical Engineering Society I was often involved in presenting to students and lecturers alike. In my final year at school I also earned the role of Head Boy. This was a result of my persuasive speeches and effective campaign. Within this role I would often ‘play to my audience’ to get the best response from the demographic and I believe this has helped me improve my presenting ability.
