Hayley McKay-singer songwriter, National Talent competition Winner, performed on Toad Hall stage and Mandala Stage Glastonbury 2014.
In 2011, I won a National Talent competition, which funded me to study at Brighton Institute of modern music. After studying vocals, I then went on to do an artist development course at The British academy of new music, in London. I've also sang on the soundtrack for the film Harrigan starring Steven Tompkinson. Some of my achievements up to date include,
performing solo at Newcastle City Hall, at the event Sunday for Sammy, where I was amongst some fantastic performers such as Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Tim Healy and Lindisfarne. I have supported various artists including Tom Jones, Scouting for girls, Albert Lee, Hazel o Connor, Visage, Lauren Pritchard (signed to Island Records) and blues legend Skip "Little Axe" McDonald.
I have always had a passion for musical theatre, and have performed across the country in many musicals and opera's, including Her Majesty's Theatre, starring as a young Marylin Monroe. This was one of my first performing experiences, at the age of 9yrs.
I perform at many gigs, events and festivals.
