My earliest, most significant singing experience developed during amateur musical shows from when I was 18.
A couple of years before leaving to study at Falmouth University, I become involved in theatre, musical theatre and operatic societies in my local area. I performed in shows such as: Brenda Bly - Teen Detective, RENT, and Gilbert and Sullivan's - The Sorcerer. I had the opportunity to play the lead in a couple of these, which provided me the chance to sing in duets, as well as fully expressing my voice in opperetta.
From there, I took a 3 year Acting course at Falmouth University. This is where I was professionally trained to use my voice for stage and camera, in addition to singing.
Between studying, I was coached part time by a classical singer. Amongst my acting training these sessions hugely developed the qualities of my tenor voice, from low - high range full voice projection to falsetto.
Since then, I have been to recording studios and created some covers of my favourite songs; found in my videos section.
My music experience extends to light production and composing too! In the forementioned videos, I recorded a cover of "Over My Shoulder" by Mika, but could not find any suitable backing music. So, I decided to write the entire orchestral score version from scratch into cubase, implementing a few of my composing qualities along the way. This was an amazing self-learning experience and I endevour to recod some more vocals and backing tracks very soon.
I have always had a pleasure in playing the piano, particuralry to create new music every time I play. I can follow sheet music on a basic/steady level, but usually find myself composing instead. I have written 3 completed pieces so far and are in the process of being uploaded to my YouTube account. Please feel free to check them out and enjoy, all feedback is most welcome.
