Motion Graphic Designer Wanted for Comedy Web-Series Pilot
Logline: Faced with the struggles of young adulthood, shared living and shoestring survival, Hannah Tao turns to the trusty internet when life stumps her.
Genre: Comedy web-series (6x10-minute episodes)
Synopsis: Hannah arrives home and is greeted to the sound of loud sex noises (woof!) coming from her housemate Sarah’s room. While her other housemate, Ben, turns to the washing machine and vacuum to drown out the noise, Hannah gets creative with the help of Google to dull the erotic racket.
Tone: The silliness of Broad City and Flight of the Conchords, mixed with the relatability of Insecure, High Maintenance and Please Like Me. We’re going for comedy sprinkled with drama, something like Fleabag or Master of None.
Themes: How to Cook Brussel Sprouts explores the comical result of Hannah’s most ridiculous and intimate Google searches. It looks at what happens when a millennial earnestly applies internet advice to her problems. It’s about the awkward life fumbles we face every day. It’s the google searches we’re too ashamed to share. It’s ‘adulting’ as a verb.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesWrapped on April 8th. Aiming to have a fine cut by June 8th and final cut by July 8th.
This job is unpaid
