Have you ever wanted to write the score for a film? Now you have the chance to do so! I am looking for a music enthusiast who will write and record the soundtrack for a sci-fi CGI short film.
Four pieces are required, all performed by classical instruments (going easy on the percussion, mainly focusing on string and wind instruments), totalling approximately 10 minutes. The music should be somewhat similar to those in Avatar (2009) and Gravity (2013), but you will have a fairly large level of freedom to express your creativity. You can apply by yourself or as groups.
The pieces will have to be finished by February 2020, and you will receive regular feedback on your progress. You will need to be able to use music composing software, or record in another way.
The project is for a VFX student’s dissertation, thus it is a non-profit one, however, you will have the unique opportunity of composing a film score and take full credit for it. Furthermore, the film will be played at film festivals and screenings to gain attention, so you can really get your name out there. Please only apply if you know you will have the time and opportunity to finish the job, as the film will heavily rely on your talent to put life into it.
Let me know in your application about why you would like to take part, and I will give you a full brief about the required music.
Best of luck!
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesAll you need to do is send me any of your previous work that falls into the category described above.

You will have to compose the scores, as well as record them any way you like. This may include recording with an orchestra (e.g. if you are a student with available resources), or work with software such as Sibelius.
