SAM is recruiting instrumental, multi-instrumental and vocal tutors

SAM (Sussex Academy of Music) sources you one-to-one teaching work in primary and secondary schools. We organise the lessons with the schools, pay directly into your bank and have an easy to use booking system to keep account of the work you do. All administration, advertising and communication is covered by SAM, so you simply turn up and teach!

Must have previous teaching experience
Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle
Reliability essential with regular weekly availability
Tutors must commit to all lessons within the half term and not be absent for holiday within these periods
Theory / grade knowledge, classical notation (including drum kit) where relevant
Volume of work is variable; tutors can be offered teaching for cover, permanent new school, studio positions or replacing an existing tutor. There is a lot of work waiting all across the county.

Every tutor will be required to have a new enhanced DBS (previously CRB) check (costing £60) even if you have an existing one all schools require a SAM headed DBS.

With an additional online safeguarding course (costing £26.40) that they must fund – (This is processed after the candidate is accepted for a teaching position and lasts for two years).
