A contemporary retelling of the World War One story, with its release planned to coincide with the centenary of Armistice Day in November this year. It sets the scene with a typical multicultural group of friends living in London in 2019, who by the end of the film find themselves on a 1914 battlefield. It aims to resonate with young people today, bringing home the experiences of their 1914 counterparts and reflecting the contribution of BME soldiers whose stories rarely make it to the screen in World War One films.

Charlie (16 & past school leaving age, playing 15)

Charlie is a white East-Londoner. He likes gaming and playing football with his mates. He is always up for an adventure, especially if Mo and Reece are involved. He lives alone with his mum who is desperate to keep her son safe and out of harm’s way. In our story, Charlie represents the 250,000 soldiers who signed up despite being under the legal age.

Males, aged 15 to 18 from United Kingdom

Mo (17/18)

Mo is a second generation immigrant. He’s a British Bangladeshi Muslim, living with his parents in Tower Hamlets. Mo is the oldest of the three and the de facto leader. He is kind and patient - taking particular care of Charlie. Mo reminds us of the 1.5 million men that left British India to contribute to the war effort.

Males, aged 17 to 20 from United Kingdom

Reece (17/18)

Reece is the middle child of the group. He winds up Charlie at every opportunity but looks to Mo as an older brother. He is more interested in chatting up women than victory in Europe. Many black British men, whose ancestors had been brought over from Africa as slaves in the 18th and early 19th centuries, fought alongside white soldiers at the Front.

Males, aged 17 to 20 from United Kingdom
