Costume Designer Wanted for Comedy Short Film
Just a little bit about the film ..
A Conference With Roger is a passion project, an unashamedly comedic exploration of a teenage boy’s sexuality in a digital age of hyper sexualisation. In a stand-up comedy show, the young and charismatic Mitch Bates details a past family holiday where he encountered a deeply personal yet embarrassing tragedy.
Have we grabbed your attention yet? Let me tell you a little more..
It’s a humdrum Wednesday night when a charismatic Mitch Bates takes to the stage of the local comedy club. With a snobby and unresponsive audience and a microphone that smells like beer, Mitch recounts the tale of a personal tragedy amidst the mundane town of Forster on a family vacation. With nowhere to go, and nothing to do, what else can a teenage boy get up to if not a conference with Roger? On the one hand, a promising yet comedic ‘coming of age story - on the other, an honest portrayal of lust, romance and the perception of women in a technological world.
To sum it up this film stems from the brainchild of filmmakers who were born into a generation over-saturated with digital pornography since childhood. Sound familiar?
Hopefully we still have your attention..
As mentioned we’re searching for a costume designer to bring their creative skills and ideas to the table. We’ve set a considerable amount of the budget aside for costume, as we’d like to give you creative control. The style we’re aiming for is to visually depict the contrast between the 80s porn/real world. All expenses will be reimbursed and catering is provided for all shoot dates. All shoot locations are kept close radius of the city centre.
