StarNow are giving you the Chance to Win a 10 Week Acting course with Juliet Furness.

Juliet Furness is an Acting and Voice coach who lives in Auckland NZ.

She originally moved offshore to LA to work as the assistant coach at a film acting school run by Jeremiah Comey- a well known coach in the industry. After that she relocated to NY for 17 years to hone her skills as a coach. Her influences are many and varied. The prime focus is spontaneity.

Here's what Sydney based Actor's Equity had to say of her workshop-
“The Equity foundation are thrilled at the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from NZ actors after 2 commissioned workshops run by Voice and Acting coach Juliet Furness as part of their professional development series.”

Level 1

The Level 1 courses cover the application of adjustments onto memorised script work. So students are expected to be memorised on new work every two weeks. Whether or not that is a scene or monologue. We are working to create spontaneity in acting. A free quality in the actor where 100 per cent of you can show up. So this stage is about trying out different tools that create spontaneity and seeing how that supports your ability to live as fully as you can in the story. Different adjustments do different things. Some help tell stronger story, some increase emotional stakes, some bring a more vulnerable side of you out. So a good work out so you can get on your feet with playing confidently and freely.

Level 2

Level 2 is where the actors start to take control of being able to diagnose what the may need in terms of technique - when you feel a slight ebb of that natural state of deep flow that every actor knows when they are having a great experience with acting. As Seth Barrish-Anne Hathaways acting coach says- “It’s about working smarter NOT harder” engineering a sense of ease that comes at the very peak of performance. Subtle adjustments that keep you working at that peak.

IMPORTANT: You will need to be based in Auckland during the 10 week Term to attend classes.
