Dominic is actually revealed to be Dominique later on in the story, so it needs to be a female who can pass off as a male. Dominic is Theodore's trusty companion. Blunt, direct and lacking patience.

Angel is the mysterious girl in the woods. Hidden behind a cloak and veil, Angel is a sweet girl, but very wary and suspicious of strangers.

Barney is one of the four owls who watch the story in the Woods unfold. Barney is the comedian of the group and is always trying to eek out whatever humour he/she can find from the owls' mundane existence.

Fish is another owl. Fish is grumpy, moany and totally downbeat. If there's anything to complain about, he/she will find it.

Squire
The Squire is the dictatorial, harsh and blunt ruler of the village. He lives in luxury, while the villagers live in poverty and despair. Ultimately though, he proves to be utterly useless.

Edmund is the downtrodden brother and valet to the Squire. A bumbling yes-man. Seemingly though, Edmund also has a secret identity at odds with his normal persona.
