Looking for Muslim Women for a Documentary Photography Series

Looking for Muslim Women for a Documentary Photography Series

United Kingdom
Listed by View details

I am a (female) portrait and documentary photographer, keen on raising awareness for social change.

An area I would like to focus on is the impact of Islamophobia on young, Muslim women of today. Are you a victim of prejudice here in the UK? How has the media portrayal of Islam affected your life?

I would love to hear from anyone affected and particularly those who wear the hijab or have felt it necessary not to wear it, in fear of public responses.

Essentially, I would like to meet you (post-Covid lock-down of course) and have an informal chat, learn more about your experience and take some photographs. Together I hope we can give insight to the backlash of ignorance and offer an honest, informed body of work that influences opinions. You will have full control over which images are selected - this is about telling your tale whilst I navigate the creative process.

I would love to hear from you or if you know someone who would be interested to participate, please do get in touch.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

Flexible (as soon as practically possible after lock-down!)

Job payment

This job is unpaid

Expenses paid - There is no budget for the project however, I would happily help with travel expenses and offer tea/coffee/snacks
