In the longer term we will be looking for a wider range of voices so we will keep you posted!
We have just finished a pilot program for the service and it is working; giving emerging authors and small publishers an affordable service, providing employment for narration artists, and using our spare studio space so we don’t lean on government funding more than we have to. Plus each audio book is disability friendly, to allow people with a print disability to access the book easily with their assistive technology.
Ideally: you have narration experience (or an awesome radio voice), can work a radio panel (Self edit on Audition or Audacity), can come to our studios in Glebe or have access to your own professional quality Studio, and can adhere to a schedule for completion of a project. Plus be able to bear with our pretty clumsy old-fashioned application forms (we are stuck with these for the time being).
What you need to do: please send an email to me with a description of your qualifications and or experience, relating to the above criteria. AND an MP3 of your voice: 3-5 minutes reading something you like. Please call the audio file - Sample Voice - followed by your name!
Thank you and look forward to meeting you virtually.
