The character we are casting is named James who is a rural farmer with whom one of our main characters, Brandon, falls deeply in love with. A requirement for this role is willingness to portray a gay character and believably perform a same sex kiss on screen.
Our crew is composed of independent artists who have come together to realize the vision of 'Ataraxia'. Some of us are musicians, painters, photographers, and filmmakers and we are prepared to utilize our individual talents to bring a unique vibe to this arthouse film.
We would like the character to have medium to dark hair and striking features. Facial hair is preferred but not required. James is a very private and mysterious personality and we need that to be reflected in his outward appearance.

Gay male love interest on rural farm
James is a solitary type who has lived most of his life on a small farm in rural Oregon. He's honest and genuine but his words are few and his gaze tells the rest. James is the type of man it would be hard not to fall in love with because he's mysterious but soft and hardworking - he's not someone you can easily pin down. On the inside, he feels tremendously and has a great appreciation for the beauty in the world which is what makes him so irresistible to his lover, Brandon.
Male, aged 18 to 30
