
Three Actors Required for University of Westminster Crime Drama Short Film

Second-year students at the University of Westminster are looking for actors to take part in a 4-minute crime drama film about a mother and a son who struggle to hide the corpse of the father in the family after an unexpected accident.
Synopsis:
As Kathryn and her son Tom dig a grave in the middle of a forest, the film slowly reveals glimpses of the previous night. The father of the family, Gus, went to Kathryn’s new home to take some of his belongings, but the couple ended up fighting. In an attempt to push him away, Kathryn accidentally threw Gus down the stairs, causing his death. The next day, Kathryn and Tom finish covering the grave they dug up and drive off into the distance.
Compensation & Union Contract Details:
Voluntary agreement. Travel and meal expenses will be provided for, in addition to a copy of the film.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates
Filming will take place on the 8th and the 9th of December. Rehearsals shall take place the week before. Filming will be in Harrow, London.Job payment
Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - Student film.
Expenses paid - Voluntary agreement. Travel and meal expenses will be provided for, in addition to a copy of the film.
Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.

Kathryn
Kathryn is a 45-year-old woman who is going through a divorce process and has little time for the problems that have been plaguing her life over the last few months. Even though they are divorced, she still often argues with Gus. Therefore, when she appears complicit in the death of her ex-husband, it is hard to tell whether it was a chance of revenge or just an accident. Required skills: Experience with improvisation, Drive a car.

Gus
Gus is a 55 year old man, he has less of a backbone than his former wife, hence he is more often than not the source of their petty squabbles. He is ten years older than his former wife and provided much of the income in their previous home. He no longer has much affection for Kathryn, however, he cannot help himself from arguing with her about why their relationship broke down. Required skills: Experience with improvisation

Tom
Tom is a rather passive young man until he is forced to question his mother’s role in the death of his father. He has stayed out of the fray regarding their divorce, quietly taking his mother’s side as it was his father who left - despite having a better relationship with him. He remains in his bedroom during the argument between his father and mother but decides to leave his bedroom when he hears an abnormal amount of noise coming from the staircase.
